TV, radio and DOOH advertising automation for Chile
OpenMediaLogic can be deployed for Chilean broadcasters, radio groups, out-of-home operators and agencies. It is not live in Chile today: the platform runs in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, where 200+ media brands use it. This page describes what a Chilean deployment would involve, in the market's own terms — and the site exists in Spanish. Latin American television is measured by one company almost everywhere — IBOPE, formerly Kantar IBOPE Media — and planned on the same rating-point and cost-per-point arithmetic, so a deployment in one Southern Cone market is a deployment the neighbours can join; what differs — regulator, tax, e-invoicing — is on each country's page.
How Chile trades, and what the platform connects to
- Television audience is measured by Kantar IBOPE Media under a five-year industry contract, and since April 2025 on a new national, cross-media, people-based measurement replacing the Santiago-centred panel — the first Latin American market to adopt it. Television is planned and traded on rating points, GRP and cost per point. The planning module takes the new currency through the API and calculates GRP, CPP, reach and frequency on it.
- Broadcasters — Mega (Grupo Bethia), Canal 13, Chilevisión (Paramount) and the public broadcaster TVN — sell their own airtime and streaming inventory through their own sales operations; Mega is the one consistently profitable network, the others have cut costs and losses in a shrinking linear market. A group with a system of its own connects it through the API; the regional channels and the streaming inventory sold beside linear run their book on the platform.
- Radio — the groups (Iberoamericana Radio Chile, Bío-Bío, Dial and Grupo Copesa's stations, and the regional groups) sell airtime through their own sales teams, with audience surveyed by the industry's radio study. The radio module handles the schedule, rate cards, booking, certificates and reconciliation for a group of any size.
- Out-of-home — JCDecaux, Clear Channel and the local operators sell classic and digital inventory directly in Santiago and the regions. The platform runs the direct business — packages, bookings, proof of play, certificates — beside the TV and radio book.
- Regulation — the Consejo Nacional de Televisión (CNTV) supervises television content and advertising, including the protection of minors and — as a series of 2025–2026 decisions and court rulings confirmed — advertising for online betting; advertising content is self-regulated through CONAR Chile and governed by the consumer-protection law enforced by SERNAC. Content and time rules are enforced in scheduling; a spot's approval status attaches to the creative in trafficking.
Commercial and legal terms of a Chilean deployment
- Billing in CLP, VAT at 19%, through a Chilean contracting entity
- Electronic invoicing — every VAT taxpayer has issued electronic tax documents (DTE) through the Servicio de Impuestos Internos since 2014, so this is the Latin American market where e-invoicing is longest established. The platform issues every closing document — invoice, certificate of airing, reconciliation — from the record the booking was made in, and a Chilean deployment connects that output to the DTE workflow through the API
- Hosting and data residency in Chile, under the new Personal Data Protection Law (Law 21.719), in force from 1 December 2026 with a new Data Protection Agency and fines up to 4% of revenue; role-based access, encryption in transit and at rest, audit log — see security
- Interface in Spanish — one of the platform's 16 languages, already in use on this site — with English available to every user
- Integration through the REST API: Kantar IBOPE data, playout and automation, agency planning and finance systems, accounting and DTE
- Onboarding in 48 hours for the platform itself, reference data migration included
Where the platform fits in Chile
Chile is a compact market — four national networks, a handful of radio groups, agencies planning from Santiago — in which the linear television business is under cost pressure and the streaming inventory sold beside it is growing. The networks run systems of their own and would connect through the API — the alternatives page describes that relationship. The stronger fit is the streaming and regional inventory, the radio groups, the out-of-home operators' direct business and the agencies — and a market this size is one a shared marketplace can cover whole, which is how the platform's first market came to sell up to 95% of its television inventory through it. In the platform's three live markets that is where the results came from: up to 95% of a country's TV inventory on one platform; −32% media costs for a national advertiser (Beeline); +47% occupancy for a national broadcaster (NTRC Uzbekistan).
Questions buyers in Chile ask
Is there one system that connects a TV channel, a radio station or a screen operator with the agencies and advertisers who buy from it?
Yes — that is what OpenMediaLogic is. The seller publishes inventory, availability and prices; the agency or advertiser plans and books against them online; the seller confirms; and the schedule, the certificate of airing, the reconciliation and the invoice come out of the same record. It covers TV, radio and digital out-of-home in one system, so a media group sells channels, stations and screens from one place and an agency buys all three in one plan.
Our TV measurement changed to a national cross-media currency in 2025. Does the platform work with it?
Yes — the planning module calculates on whatever currency comes in through the API, and a currency that covers linear and streaming together is the one it is built for: one plan across both.
We already issue DTE through the SII. What does the platform add?
The document before the invoice: the booking, the schedule, the certificate of airing and the reconciliation, all in one record — so the DTE is generated from the deal rather than typed from a spreadsheet, and connected to the SII workflow through the API.
Does it enforce the CNTV's rules, including on betting advertising and protected hours?
Content and time rules are enforced when a spot is placed, and a spot without approval status cannot be scheduled — the rule is applied at booking, not discovered at sanction.
Is there a Spanish interface, and can we bill in pesos?
Yes on both. Spanish is one of the platform's 16 interface languages, billing is in CLP with VAT through a Chilean contracting entity, and data is hosted in Chile under Law 21.719. The platform is not live in Chile yet; a demo on your own inventory takes 30 minutes.
